Hefei, is the capital of the district Anhui, in east China. The name Anhui is derived from the name of two cities in the south of the district: Anqing and Huizhou (now Huangshan City).

Some other famous places at Anhui are: Bengbu, Fuyang, Chuzhou, Anqing, Wuhu.

Mount Jiuhua, in the southern prefecture Chizhou, is one of the four sacred mountains in Chinese Buddhism.

The amazing Mount Huangshan, at the south of the district, is part of the Unesco World Heritage List.
